Artist Terry Lawrie
TERRY LAWRIE is a 2nd generation car and motorsport enthusiast, introduced to his passion when he was 7 sitting on his father’s shoulders at the 1956 Australian Grand Prix (Stirling Moss won the race!).
He has competed in a variety of events, including the ’93 London to Sydney Marathon – the world’s longest car rally (18,400km). As a member of the K-mart Monaro Team, he came 49th (after dropping to last with a broken axle in Turkey!) from an International field of 106 and drove the first team car home. Terry has also organised the National Concours d’Elegance run in conjunction with Domain Chandon (Moet Chandon’s Australian winery).
Recently completing a course in ceramics and mould-making (achieving a High Distinction). He has exhibited at the Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore Motor Shows and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Terry is a founding member of the Australian Auto Artists.
